Hello and thank you for visiting my website! My name is Crina and I am a Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Nutritionist and Mindfulness Meditation Teacher.  I specialise in Hormonal and Digestive conditions with Stress Management being a major component of both. I am passionate about helping women “find their flow” in life by integrating holistic living principles with wholesome nutrition advice and stress-reducing protocols.

The focus of my practice is three-pronged:

  1. Healthy Hormones – I help women who struggle with hormonal challenges discover simple and accessible ways to achieve balance and peace of mind.
  2. Healthy Gut – I help people who suffer from digestive disorders to restore their gut health through the use of nutritious, whole foods and strategic nutritional supplementation when and if necessary.
  3. Healthy Mind – I help people who are affected by stress-associated conditions to achieve mental and emotional balance by introducing them to mindfulness meditation and other coping strategies.

My story

…doesn’t actually begin in the field of health and wellness. I only started on this path after spending twelve years in a highly rewarding but stressful corporate environment. Long work hours, client meetings, travel, conferences, deadlines and various other commitments translated into sleep disturbances, poor eating habits and numerous cups of coffee I needed to keep me going. I felt sick, tired, depressed and without purpose. Something needed to change…and I’m thankful that it did!

After months of mental struggle, countless hours of research and checking in with myself, I left the corporate world behind and finally stepped into the one of  holistic health and wellness by commencing my studies at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. I was embarking on the journey of a lifetime! From Nutritional Pathology to Holistic Food Preparation to Psychology of Disease, I devoured all the material that was taught in school and then sought out more, through Continuing Education courses.

I truly resonate with the concept that, in our interactions with our clients, we engage with the Whole Person as the unity of body, mind, and spirit. Our focus is on prevention of dis-ease rather than merely managing symptoms. We listen to the unique history and needs of a person to gain insight into the “why and how” a certain health condition developed and what can be done to restore balance.

The driving force behind my dedication has been the aspiration to help others who, just like me in the past, may suffer in silence, unaware that there are solutions to their problems, unaware that every person has an innate healing power – given the right resources, environment, guidance and support.

Today, in my education-based functional nutrition and wellness practice I am committed to helping people overcome their health challenges and reclaim their joy, health and vitality. I love teaching my clients how to interpret the messages they receive from their bodies and my approach integrates the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of a person.

Functional Nutrition aims to identify and resolve the patterns underlying someone’s symptoms by creating a customized program in order to return the body and mind to a state of balance or homeostasis.

More about me and my training

Combining two major interventions – nutrition + meditation or ‘what we put in our body and what we put in our mind’ – my approach is informed by the latest research on orthomolecular nutrition, neuroscience and mindfulness meditation, as well as mind/body medicine – specifically the ways in which mental, emotional, environmental, social, and spiritual factors come together to affect someone’s health. Simply put, this means that I look beneath the surface of symptoms to find the more fundamental causes for the conditions I see.

My personal mindfulness practice has been shaped by the work of great teachers such as Pema Chodron, Jack Kornfield, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Thich Nhat Hanh, Tara Brach, Paul Gilbert, Sharon Salzberg, Saki Santorelli, J. Krishnamurti, Eckhart Tolle, Joseph Goldstein, Adyashanti, S.N. Goenka and visionary mindfulness researchers like Dan Siegel, Rick Hanson, Mark Epstein, Zindel Segal, Mark Williams, John Teasdale, Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer.

Over the years, I have enjoyed the inspiring presence of many wonderful teachers, mentors, friends, clients and peers and I have drawn on the wisdom of many authentic and dedicated beings.
